About Manu Mathew

I am Manu Mathew, a Technical Lead Engineer at Newfold Digital, based in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. Since July 2012 I have worked on enterprise software across web hosting, healthcare, investor relations, and SaaS. I progressed from software engineer to senior software engineer and then technical lead through platform ownership.

At Newfold Digital I work on internal tools and mentor junior engineers. The recent work is platform modernisation, migrations from legacy hosting platforms to modern architectures, and cloud-native delivery with Kubernetes, OCI, automation, and AI-assisted development. Day to day that is software architecture, platform engineering, DevOps collaboration, and developer productivity: reusable frameworks, APIs, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.

The lead role is listed in Mumbai and is remote. Earlier work includes hosting platforms in Bengaluru, compliance and investor-relations systems at EQS Group in Kochi, healthcare billing tools at AdvantEdge in Bengaluru, web applications at Diya Systems in Mangaluru, and Perl and PHP training at Spectrum Softtech Solutions in Ernakulam and Kochi, where I mentored people as part of my job as a trainer.

Separately from my job, I take on remote freelance work: Perl development and maintenance, and WordPress websites for small businesses and agencies. I work with clients in India and other countries, and how I work with remote clients explains how that goes. I also write about WordPress, hosting and engineering on this site.
