WordPress Website Developer in Kerala, India
By Manu Mathew · Last updated 4 October 2026
If you run a small business in Kozhikode, elsewhere in Kerala or anywhere in India and need a WordPress website built, fixed or looked after, this page explains what I can help with and how a project usually goes.
Quick answer
I’m a WordPress website developer in Kozhikode, Kerala. I build, fix and look after WordPress sites for small businesses across Kerala, and work remotely with clients across India. New sites, redesigns, slow or broken sites, security, hosting moves, ongoing care: if it runs on WordPress, I can help. I quote after I understand the work.
Who is this for?
- Small businesses that need a clear website customers can find and trust
- Founders and professionals who want a simple site they can update themselves
- Owners whose WordPress site is slow, broken, hacked or badly out of date
- Agencies and freelancers who need an extra pair of hands on a WordPress project
What can I help with?
- New websites: planning the pages, setting up WordPress, building the site and getting it live.
- Redesigns: a fresh look and clearer structure for a site that no longer fits your business.
- Speed: finding out why pages are slow and fixing the causes. I explain the usual causes in why a WordPress site is slow.
- Security: updates, safer settings, backups, and cleaning up after a hack.
- Fixes: errors, white screens, plugin conflicts, broken forms, emails that don’t arrive.
- Ongoing care: regular updates, backups, checks and small content changes.
- Migrations: moving a site to new hosting or a new domain without losing content. If you are still choosing a host, my hosting guide may help.
- Anything else WordPress: themes, plugins, WooCommerce, forms, integrations. If it’s WordPress, ask.
How do I make your site easy to find on Google and AI assistants?
Every site I build is set up so search engines and AI assistants can read it easily and understand what your business does. Nobody can promise a ranking or a mention in an AI answer, but a clear, fast, well-organised site gives you a fair chance.
There are four terms you may hear for this. They overlap a lot, and most of it is careful, ordinary SEO:
- SEO (search engine optimisation): helping Google and Bing find and understand your pages. That means clear headings, fast pages that work well on phones, a clear title and summary for each page, an XML sitemap (a list of your pages for search engines), and IndexNow, which tells Bing and some other search engines when a page changes.
- AEO (answer engine optimisation): making your pages easy to quote when someone asks a direct question. Important pages open with a short, clear answer, use headings that match the questions customers ask, and include an FAQ section where it helps.
- AIEO (AI engine optimisation): helping AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews read your site correctly. I add structured data (schema: labels in the page code for your business name, location, services and FAQs) and an llms.txt file, a plain-text summary of the site that some AI tools read. I also check that AI crawlers aren’t blocked by mistake.
- GEO (generative engine optimisation): helping AI tools describe your business accurately. Your name, address, phone number, hours and services match on the site, in the structured data and in listings such as your Google Business Profile, and the content uses plain, specific facts rather than vague claims.
None of this needs special tricks. Google’s guidance on AI features says much the same: a clear, useful site that search engines can crawl and understand is what matters.
My own site, manu.co.in, is set up the same way.
How does a project work?
- A short conversation. You tell me about the business, what you have now and what you want the site to do.
- A look at the details. For an existing site, I look at it first so I can tell you plainly what’s wrong and what isn’t.
- A written scope and quote. You know what will be done before any work starts.
- The work. I build or fix the site, on a staging copy where that makes sense, and keep you updated as it goes.
- Handover. I show you how to update the site. Logins, hosting and the domain stay in your name.
- Care, if you want it. Ongoing updates and checks are optional, and there’s no lock-in.
Where do I work?
I’m based in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala. I work with businesses in Kozhikode and across Kerala, and remotely with clients in other parts of India and abroad. Most WordPress work happens online, so where you are rarely matters. If you’re in Kozhikode, WordPress developer in Kozhikode covers how local projects and meetings work.
Why work with me?
I have 14+ years in enterprise software, much of it around web hosting. That background means I pay attention to the unglamorous parts of a website: hosting, backups, updates, security and speed. I’ll tell you honestly when you don’t need something.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
It depends on the work. A small fix and a full new site are very different jobs, so I don’t publish prices. I give you a quote after I understand what you need, and if a smaller scope would do the job, I’ll say so.
Can you work on a site someone else built?
Yes. Much WordPress work is on existing sites. I look at the site first, tell you what I find, and then we agree what to fix or change.
Will I be able to update the site myself?
Yes, that’s the aim. I set things up so you can edit pages, posts and images yourself, and I walk you through it at handover. Logins and accounts stay in your name.
Can you help me choose hosting?
Yes. I can help you pick hosting that suits the site and set it up in your own name, so you stay in control. My hosting guide explains what I look for.
Can you guarantee my site will rank on Google or appear in AI answers?
No. Nobody can honestly promise a ranking or a mention in ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews, because both depend on things outside the website, such as competition and reviews. What I can do is set the site up so search engines and AI tools can read it and understand your business clearly.
Do you only work with businesses in Kerala?
No. I’m based in Kozhikode and work with businesses across Kerala, but most of the work happens online, so I also work remotely with clients across India and abroad.
Want to talk about your WordPress site?
Whether you need a new website or help with the one you have, I’m happy to talk it through. You can reach me through the contact section or email me at manu@manu.co.in. Tell me a little about your business and the site, and we’ll go from there.
